FAQ
- Question:
- At what point on the jamb should the hole be drilled?
- Answer:
- Your preference:
- a. Where the door shuts normally on its own, apply a little pressure on the door to make it tight to weather stripping, before throwing bolt.
- b. Apply pressure to the door to make it tighter to the weather strip.
- Question:
- If I misjudge the height location of the lock, what do I do?
- Answer:
- The rod extension is threaded and can be adjusted slightly. Also, the extension rod can be cut easily with a hacksaw if neccessary.
- Question:
- If the Tri-Bolt™ at any time does not throw into the door jamb hole because the door has expanded, contracted or warped, what steps should I take?
- Answer:
- The bolt itself is set in place permanently. The adjustment must be made to the position of the door. Adjust the striker plate in or out, as with any lock, to make it tighter or loosen from weather stripping. Do not force the lock.
- Question:
- If I try to force the lock to engage it, what could the result be?
- Answer:
- The Tri-Bolt™ has an internal spring to maintain the proper tension for correct operation. Excessive force could damage the spring. If this happens, the spring can be replaced.
